Reid was recorded live in concert for Vinyl Cafe for the first time on January 30, 2005 at The Capitol Theatre in Port Hope, Ontario (Aired Feb 12/13, 2005). We had an amazing time, and a loving relationship with the VC began. Stuart and Jess sure know how to put on a show and make an artist feel extra special. Port Hope is a beautiful town, with a fabulous theatre, and we stayed at the super charming Dr. Corbetts Inn.

Reid joined the VC gang again on December 6th 2005 at the Royal in Victoria BC (his new home), his first appearance in town was a little nerve racking, but musical director John Sheard and bassist Denis Pendrith were so completely endearing that all was soon tickity-boo. The combination of the three boys is definitely something we will see more of in future.

They hooked up again for a full tour in the spring of 2006, with fabulous singer songwriter Suzie Vinnick. Starting in London, Ontario and making their way west from there, Reid played Kid Canada in the very first production of Stuart's new radio drama Eggs Blackstone.

They again recorded in Mission BC with Murray MacLauchlan, Jenny Whiteley and Carolyn Mark on October 26, 2006.

Very much looking forward to more time spent with Canada's favourite story teller; Stuart McLean and his merry band of...well...band. So long for now!

Do we need to tell you to tune in/buy a CD/read a book? Didn't think so... CBC/VinylCafe

FROM: Stuart McLean / Vinyl Cafe

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to tell you about Reid Jamieson and to tell you how wonderful he is to work with.

We recently featured Reid as a special musical guest on our national CBC Radio program the Vinyl Café.

Reid is a beautiful singer and songwriter. After Reid appeared on the Vinyl Cafe several times we received tremendous feedback from our audience. People from all over the country wrote in to tell us they love Reid’s music. The feedback came from listeners of all different ages- from eight to eighty and everywhere in between. And that’s one of the best things about Reid; he appeals to everyone and he’s versatile. The reaction in the theatre at the Vinyl Café concert was incredible. He stole the show.

Reid’s music had an affect on me the first time I heard it. I saw him play live at Maple Lounge at the Rivoli one Wednesday night last year. I had never heard of Reid before that night. He blew me away. The bar was loud and noisy, but when Reid started playing you could hear a pin drop. I picked up a copy of his most recent album, the Unavoidable Truth, that night. It didn’t leave my stereo for the next few weeks.

While I’m impressed by his musical ability it is Reid’s professionalism that puts him head and shoulders above others. He is easy to work with, friendly, hard working and supportive. I felt like it was he, not me, keeping things together. He was wonderful.

Reid is an exceptional talent and a joy to work with. I feel proud to have had him as a guest on the Vinyl Café.

All the best,
Stuart McLean
